Alternate IDs Dashboard

In the Alternate Ids section of the Manage Database tool, users with access can view, edit, and create all Authentication and External Alternate IDs.

An Alternate ID is an unique identifier that can be used to find, match, and authenticate audience members that is not the Customer Id or Encrypted Customer ID.

In the table on the dashboard, you’ll see information about each Alternate ID including:

  • The Alternate ID

  • A description of how the Alternate ID will be used. This will be how you will find the ID in Form Builder when using on a form.

  • An indication of whether the ID is editable in Audience Search

  • And the Type of Alternate ID. There are two available types : Authentication and External. Authentication Alternate Ids can also be referred to as namespaces and are used to store username and password information for an audience member. These IDs are used to log in via Form Builder forms or via our Authentication APIs. External Alternate IDs are often used to store an identifier for an audience member that is used in a third party database.

On this screen users can also:

  • Download a list of all Alternate IDs

  • Sync Environments to sync their Alternate IDs to their Staging environment. This is likely only necessary when testing API or integration changes.

  • Edit or view the settings of an Alternate ID by clicking the Edit icon

  • Create a new Alternate ID
