Odyssey – Form Submit Element

Search the Omeda Knowledge Base

The Form Submit element is available to use in any Odyssey voyage where a Customer Id is included in the Audience source file. This element enables users to build voyages that can advance audience members after they submit or do not submit a form.

After adding a Form Submit element to your voyage canvas and clicking the element, the voyage creator can then select their filter criteria in the element inspector on the right side of the canvas.

If your voyage is currently in progress and the Form Submit has not yet been visited, the element can be paused so that the selected form can be changed. Simply Pause the element, make your changes, and click resume.

Using the Form Submit Element

The Element Name will be set to “Form Submit 1” by default but this can be edited to better describe the Filter in the context of your voyage.

Within the element inspector, you will be able to select an existing form by clicking the white box or Open Form Builder to create a new one. If you choose this option, it will take you into the Form Builder tool to create a new form.

Once you’ve selected your Form, the Form name will be displayed and you can then connect your Form Submit element to a Wait element. The connected Wait element must be set to a minimum of 15 minutes.

Using Conditions with Form Submit

There are two ways in which you can use conditions following a Form Submit element. You can choose to trigger an audience member to advance to the next element only after they have submitted a form or you can wait a set amount of time and advance audience members who have or have not submitted the form after that time period.

Triggered Condition – On Submit

If you’d like to trigger an audience member to advance to the next element after they’ve submitted the form, you will need to select ‘On Submit’ in the Triggered Conditions option on the connection between the Form Submit and the Wait element.

After selecting ‘On Submit’ you will need to specify an End Date for the trigger. This means that Odyssey will check your audience for submissions until a number of days after the voyage was scheduled or a specific date you provide. After that date, Odyssey will no longer check the audience for form submissions and any audience members who have not submitted the form, will not advance to the next element.

If an audience member has submitted the form before the End Date, they will advance to the Wait element immediately.

Triggered Condition – No Filter

If you’d like your audience to wait a set period of time after they reach the Form Submit element and, after that time has elapsed, advance them if they have or have not submitted the form, you will need to select “No Filter” in the Triggered Conditions option on the connection between the Form Submit and the Wait element. In the connection following the Wait element, you will then be able to select a Delayed Condition of Submitted or Not Submitted.
